USPS Unveils Forever Stamp
The forever stamp goes on sale April 12 at 41 cents. The rate for first-class postage rises from 39 cents to 41 cents May 14.
The stamp, which will carry the word "Forever" instead of a price, will remain valid for sending a letter, no matter how much rates go up in the future.
Why do I feel this is going to "sell out" in the first few days from people stocking up so they will never be impacted from postal rate increases again. I think lots of OLD people will do this because they are probably the only people still using stamps and USPS to mail letters and have the mentality to try to save money by stocking up on stamps. But if they can do math... they would realize they would probably NEVER be able to even save $5 by stocking up... at least thats what I think...
