The price is $169.00 plus shipping... or $20.00 less if you do NOT want me to include a belt.

Javin,

Drop me an E-mail with your shipping address and I can give you an exact total including the freight.

To clarify:

The "stepper pulley" is the one that goes on the alternator, not the blower. Good idea MrBrutus... lowering the motor without removing the alternator

The one that goes on the blower would be called "a smaller blower pulley".

instructions too?

Here is a saved post from Aug. 2000 from rjaffey on the subject:

*********

I'll post it here in case anyone else is interested.
It *may* be possible to swap pulleys without taking the alternator all the way off the car if you have an impact gun handy. However, I'm unsure as to whether there's enough room. In any event, here's an outline of the procedure if it's possible:

-Remove blower belt.
-Remove Alternator belt.
-Remove bolt connecting alternator to upper tensioner assembly. (A b*tch!)
-Remove long pivot bolt on the bottom of the alternator.
-Reorient alternator so you can access the nose (and pulley) from below.
-Use an impact gun to remove the nut holding on the JR pulley.
-Swap pulleys.
-Complete the precedure by following the steps in reverse.

Unfortunately I don't have an impact gun in my garage so I had to completely remove the alternator. Here's an outline of the procedure:

-Remove blower belt.
-Remove Alternator belt.
-Remove bolt connecting alternator to upper tensioner assembly. (A b*tch!)
-Take off the driver's side wheel.
-Remove the center nut holding the axle to the driver's side hub.
-Remove the driver's side damper fork.
-Separate the lower ball joint on the driver's side from the lower control arm.
-Remove the driver's side outer axle shaft.
-Remove the inner axle shaft.
-Remove long pivot bolt on the bottom of the alternator.
-Remove the lower alternator bracket.
-Remove the alternator.
-Swap pulleys.
-Follow the steps in reverse.

Here is JRCivics' reply in the same thread:

Yes, there is enough room to swap the pulley without removing it from the car. I simply place the alternator (with the pulley facing the ground) at rest between the mid (jack) shaft and the power steering rack. Now, I hold the pulley itself with one hand (wearing thick gloves to protect myself) and zap the nut off with an impact gun using the other hand. Viola'... off it comes.

It sounds like a lot, but it doesn't take that long.

*********

Haven't tried it myself, yet. On my list of stuff to do when I grow some balls! Anyone in MD wanna help?

WOW, is that a decent price for a pulley? Otherwise, sounds good to me!

I guess it it... for a lunk a metal and a rubber band. It goes to 9psi, this is basically the best way to up boost for this setup.

Endyn pulley = GARBAGE due to fitment issues.
JR Pulley = will slip and is harder to install.

$150.00 for the pulley alone, and $170.00 for the pulley with the appropriate belt. Shipping is additional.

This pulley should be good  It is a modification of the Endyn design...

 hmm... think I'll do a compression test too... if my numbers are good... maybe I'll get one too...

got response finally:

Tony,

Ordering three kits will certainly save some money... primarily on the
shipping. Specifically, shipping three pulleys together would save
about $30 over the price of shipping each one individually. In
addition, I do offer a wholesale program which requires the purchase of
TEN pulley kits. This would dramatically reduce the cost of each
pulley
set. Give me a call and we can discuss the details further. I will
also need to know which applications you wish to purchase.

Don't know if its true but sounds consistant.

did a compression test with danskis "special" compression tester and got these numbers... 210 150 210 210

I want to try it again with a real test but I think #2 is still just off anyways from the rest... I guess I won't be getting that pulley with you guys... damn I wanted... but I kinda had a feeling my car wasn't in good shape to begin with or else I wouldn't have done the test...

damn now i feel even worse. i hav a good sound engine and less horse power at the wheels:WTF?:

WOW, those where your number????? When I found out my compression results, I was like , maybe holding off on the this mod is a good ideal!

Dave's friend took apart my engine today and cylinder 1 was so badly damaged that when he took off the bolts, it fell straight out of the cylinder! Usually even after taking off the bolts from the crank, if the rings are holding the piston tight enough, it should still stay in the block. But not mines...

Will post up pictures soon!

naw bearingburner... I know once that car w/ head and the cams (and other possible secret weapons) get retuned... your numbers will surpass me... danny's too... especially with both of you getting those magic pulleys!

 But hey, only #2 is bad on my car... which is 1/2 the the number of cylinders on Danny's car. So I figure its only going to be half the work to rip it apart to repair! haha... okay maybe not happy... instead maybe it should be this pic. :bash:

naw... its okay... I fixed it! I put in this...

http://www.restoreusa.com/restprod.jpg

so everything must be fixed now! Naw, I just wanna see if this shit really works... at worse if it gets worse I gotta rip it anyways. Wanna to another comp test this weekend not to really check my motor.... but to see if this stuff makes any diff as it claims. And if the number actually comes back up I'll say fawk it and get the pulley anyway! I want if sooooo bad! :rolls_eye

what ill effects or tolls would be taken on the rest of my motor to continue to run hard with the current state of the motor... or to even up boost?

i seen and usedthat shit before. its black like tar. very very thick and black. remember the movie blob? well it comes out like that. make sure you dont spill it on anything you dont want it on. its a biatch to clean. other than that it works!!

holy shit! I ws actually expecting you to tell me how this stuff doesn't really work and how its possibly bad for the motor! But yeah... its a deep bluish color and THICK!

cool I actually hear you say something positive about this stuff! Now if I do the comp test again... and numbers look better, I might get the pulley with you... I'm really itching for it! damn... would you advise against it at this stage tho?

Should I switch to 10-40 or 20-50 (yeah diesel powered!)? Either way I guess I'm gonna be using the restore stuff religiously with every oil change... $$$

bearingburner
06-25-2003, 08:17 PM
10w40 should be a good choice 20w50 is way too thick you may stress the oil pump during operation and also the vtec oil spouts are too small for the 20w50
