I'm taking social gender class and we watched this video about kids playing with toys that is meant for the opposite sex and their parents having problem with it....

one situation:
there's a little boy that like to play with barbie dolls and he sees this dolls as characters but not really as a girl toy... another boy is the same thing likes to play with dolls because he saw some other child playing with it and he wants the same thing...

another situation:
a boy want a kitchen thing to play with... his mom try to buy him more like trucks and army toys and stuff... but he doesnt like to play with it... so finally she just bought that kitchen toy for him... and he really like it and enjoy playing/pretending kitchen...

a parent is scared of buying these kind of toys for his son because she's afraid that he'll turn gay later on... that in a way she's encouraging him to be gay.... while the other parent is totally fine with it.. that he's okay to show his feminine side that there is nothing wrong with those kind of toys that society is the one putting gender on everything...

now my question is.... if your the parent... will this be a problem to you??? what would you do??? will u beat ur kid and make him watch porn in a locked up room hahhaa.... no but seriously is it really wrong for the kid to play with "girls" toys???

khristine's post reminds me of the skit (don't remember if it SNL or MadTV) but about the boy who played with "masculine" dolls ended up being ghey, because he preferred people like The Village People

and the guy who played with barbies became some ladies man...

but to give my opinion to your topic...i wouldn't mind. if my kid wants to play with a kitchen set, he may become a chef one day. so i don't believe playing with certain toys while young determines your sexual orientation in the future

it wouldnt matter to me what kind of toys my kids are playing with. they can play with whatever they like and i dont think a boy playing with "girl" toys makes them gay later on.

i took a class at state..dont remember the name of the class..but they said something like people are born with their sexual orientation. its something different in their brain or something like that.

why do u have to think of it as a career... will he be less masculine if he just wants to play kitchen or just cook (like this guy we know who likes to make quesadillas... or pizza) will he be gay???

they are still doing research on that to check to see if there's really a part of the brain that gives u gheyness yup!~ BOB SAGET!

I would not care if my son play with girl toys. As long he doesn't dress like a girl.

there was actually a part in the movie were this lil boy, prolly like 2 yrs... put on his mom shoes and started walking... or at least try to walk wearing it... another is the boy that plays with dolls like he's around 8-10... he's wearing uggs!!! wat do u say about that????

when i saw it... i felt like... the boy wearing his mom shoes was cute... but the boy wearing uggs at the age... made me wonder why in the world would u wear girly boots???? whyyyyy... and why did the parents buy that for him when there are snow boots clearly made for boys... but he wants the soft kind... :gay:
