I know... it seems scary... hook up a (neg) pulse to a wire that constant 12V?http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif But play stupid, and just follow the instruction and see what happens http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif most likely the headlights will just turn on to your surprise. I'll let others look over this post and I'm sure you'll go searching around anyways. I have NOT hooked up a headlight lighting system in a LONG time, but I don't recall having to do anything special. So if memory serves me correctly, you just tap it as you have drawn above. You are thinking too deeply and at the same time simply of how electrical connections react (your screw driver between the battery pole example), yet you don't think about where those wires are coming from or going to.
Nice picture... trying to compete with HatchCrap's art? Looks like he OwNZ you on that! haha http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rofl2.gif

hm..before i go around burning the car up, i'll see if andy has anything to say...and no..i prob will fail and get http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/owned.gif if i try to compete with that hatch piece of artwork..so i will delete my pic asap so that others will not see.

Yes, I wanna gonna tell you to ask Danskis http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif *Since he's probably done this more recent than me. Now picture this... wait I was gonna describe it but I'll do a ghetto picture too! haha...

now do the readings you get make sense now? *haha... now it seems simple IF this is really how the car is wired up. But thats my guess. As far as I know or should I say ASSUME ( and we all know what assuming does) MOST cars run ALL power for headlights directly through the switch, not through relays or what not. So when you switch to high voltage bulbs and all that crap.. you increase load on the dinky ass switch next to your left hand (unless you sit the other way * http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rofl2.gif ) so if you go high enough with wattage.. you can probably melt the switch harness or switch. *I'm guessing if Clifford has designated that a "Headlight" wire and instructed you to wire it directly to the headlight wire its a internal relay switch to direct ground. *But if you want to be extra safe you can add another relay to provide ground to the switch.

Sorry, that pic doesn't work.
http://www.helluvaflash.com/headlight.jpg
you see positive when the switch is either off, or at parking light
when you turn it to headlight, then the wire becomes neg
hope this helps

What your saying is is ture. Clifford does tell you to hook it up directly to the wire but I don't really trust Clifford because sometimes the internal relays get suck and I think it might be the feedback of the switch. I use the relay just to be safe.

oh yeah, another thing is that every cars have different set up. It's better if you get the wire diagram because it tells you what to do to hook it up. http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/duel.gif http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/drunk.gif http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/newbie.gif
ok..
the prob is..i think this relay is already stuck..when i measure the wire...it gives out a weird reading..it's not completely grounded..and when i press the remote channel 2 after car is armed to test out if wire grounds when pressed, the needle of the meter needle doens't move...
is there something wrong there?
~al (wondering why the needle isn't moving)

Maybe the needle moves only if it's postive. Maybe it's trying to go the other way. lol.
