I hope everyone had fun a few weeks ago drinking up, gambling, watching moives, and talking dirty to each other in my downstairs bachelor pad.

Just wanted to let everyone know what I do.... even though I passed out my cards.

I work for NEW YORK LIFE and am a registered rep for NYLIFE Securities. *If anyone needs any:

Retirement Programs set-up (401k's, IRA's, ROTH-IRA's, Annuties, SEP, TSA's)

College Funding (even if you are like Ray Wong and are on the 38 year plan)

Insurance (Life Insurance, Life Insurance for Mortgage Protection and Acceleration, Health Insurance, Long-Term Care, *http://www.23rdavenue.net/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Sorry, no car insurance)

Investments (Mutual Fund Accounts, tax-deferred savings etc etc, Brokerage Accounts)

for themself or their parents, friends, ect. let me know. *I am trying to build a strong client base and am trying to get my name out there and I figure friends are the first group of people who I should be a resource to. *So if anyone has any financial related questions or need help reading their Retiremnet Account Statements, FEEL FREE TO CALL(each call will be charged $5.99 the first min. and $1.99 each minute thereafter, lol) *This way, everyone can become my client, so that I can throw more parties and so that Richard can get free Alcohol and get drunk and Elbert can have a place to roll his joints... haa haa

And Yes, everyone can get a FREE Calendar, Key Chain, ect ect. compliments of NYLIFE.

Just an interesting fact: *If you began to put away $100 a month into an account that was taxed deferred (meaning no taxes on your earnings, your interest just compounds like how a credit card charges you) and the account returned 8% consistently. *By the time you retire or age 65, you would have over 1-million dollars. *Yes, US Dollars not YEN!

holy crap I'm down with Al, you don't even need to put in the 100 dullers. Just "begin" the act of doing it and its the same.... right?

Well, obviously this is just a hypothetical example because if there were an account that returned 8% consistently, everyone and their MOM's would be in line to get one. In the world of investments, there are never any gurantees. But it doesn't matter what kind of an account, as long as it is tax-deferred.

Examples:
401k
ROTH IRA
Life Insurance
Annuities

For Bill and all you other guys who are working at BEST BUYS. Since that is a large corporation, you guys should look into your 401k. That is a great way to start and since the money is taken out of your paychecks every month before taxes and you probably won't even notice it which in my opinion is the best way to save.

Just look at it this way, for every dollar you make, if you are in the 28% percentile tax bracket, the G-O-V takes 28 cents out of your paycheck. This is what is known as Federal and State income taxes. But if you contribute to a 401k, in a sense you are getting that 28 cents back or are making the most of your money because you are using money that is before taxes. Plus you lower your taxable income and you might even get bumped down to a lover tax bracket.

Then you call me and I'll show you how to take some of that 401k money out TAX-FREE.
