below is the updated list of attendees for New Years celebration 2003 in Vegas. as you can see, there are 9 people with a positive yes on this trip. that means we only need 2 sedans. if you guys would like vans, let's find 5 more people to fill up the second van.

Dates--> December 29th to January 2nd
Justifications: we can leave Dec. 29th, which is sunday, anytime in the afternoon or morning so that we can party when we get there. Leaving the 2nd, which is a Thursday, is good so that we can be more alert and sober up from the day before from partying. In addition, traffic will be less jammed.
Biggest thing is to see if everyone can get those days off--Arthur, Ray, Duy, Steve, Lan, Sandon......(jeff and i are flexible)
So can everyone find out by this MONDAY???? Talk to your boss, put in your requests, sleep w/ your manager...whatever you need to do!!! We need to put deadlines on ourselves or this whole thing will keep laggin and laggin'.
My hugest concern is the hotel room. We need to find a place like NOW. Please if everyone can search online at any website out there:

This is a forward of the email that Stef. has sent to all her friends. It looks like we will be driving 2 vehicles down to Las Vegas. Sherman needs to call ROD, for all the corresponding info. is under your name, i.e. previous reservation info., credit card info., gayness factor info. etc etc.,
SHERM call for the ROOM NOW! Just find out what he can do and what is avaliable! He will probably need to call you back for that is his Cell Phone number.

on monday november 11, 2002.....i will be booking regular rates at a hotel unless you guys (Sherm, Daniel, Rick) will be calling rod.
if someone doesn't do anything, we will have to pay regular price for some fucked up rooms. remember, the longer you take, more less likely it's gonna be to get a cool room.

As Ray said, we should be looking for rooms NOW!! I tried to call Rob and the line was disconnnected. FYI there are roundtrip vacation packages with Hotel for around $240 per person at Bally's, cheaper if you pick a cheaper hotel, so if some of you want to do that...some peps could fly down (two probably) and ther rest drive down and split the room minus the plane ticket FAIR price....just a thought.

I did not get a chance to call Bally's yet, I'll try today, and did you try to look for packages online yet??? I will try to do that too...but don't count on me doing that until later on this afternoon. I'm at work right now!! and yes I know I shouldn't even be on right now!

we are pretty fucked. Rod's cell phone has been disconnected and the only way to contact him is to call bally's directly and ask for him. after nagging sherm 90749741 times, he finally called to ask but rod wasn't in yesterday, nov 11. so, all we know is that he still works there because the receptionist knew who he was. what we don't know is his scedule. sherm asked for a quick quote just to see what we would have to settle with if we had no other way to get the reservations and what he found is that a regular room in vegas for that date is around $350. THANKS, GUYS!
so, sherm will try again today and continue until he is reached.
i hope this doesn't happen again.

Looks like the rooms for the 29th - 2nd will cost about $1,000. Is this getting canceled? I highly doubt Rod can do anything for us... I think he'd be more interested in helping out ballers who wants a suite at last minute without reservations. Keep in mind Rod is only interested in making money and not really gonna try to help us out because he is NOT our friend.
I would forget about Rod altogether...

i do want to keep trying until it is for sure that we will be spending a grand to rent hotel rooms. as of daniel and his two vans, i think you have to cancel them or save them to do some cardboard mayhem on new years day.

So whats the scoop on the air fare with hotel for $250? Rick? (As you can see I'm totally abandoning the Hotel Rob idea becuz I think I'm smart) Are you planning to fly down there? as for the whole process of calling rod/rob/ron/eddie, it was a shot to get cheaper hotel prices. remember, it was your (alone) thought to lead you (alone) to believe that we should not bother calling. that would be your opinion and something that no one else had agreed on. so how could your opinion become the voice of the whole team?
the main reason why i pushed people to call rod, was obviously to get cheaper rates. if we totally abandon the idea, then people will start saying "what if...." "could of..." "we should of..." after we pay $83.50 per person or more for a dinky ass hotel room. by trying to put this trip together, i believe it is to everyone's advantage to get the cheapest rates, so why not go for it? what's the difference between calling and not? we attempted to ask rod and that was it. nothing was lost. so why were you so obstinate into what everyone should feel or do? all i can say is that now that we have tried, we can all say we took a shot at it, and the next step is to find an alternative.
remember, rod gave us a cell phone for a reason. to call him and ask for anything in the future was his decision if he believe it was a one time thing, he wouldn't have offered a number to call at all. and if everyone didn't want to even try calling him, then why would daniel keep asking me to tell someone to call rod? why did rick and sherm call at all? it was an attempt to get cheaper rates and was in everyone interest to do so.
with that out of the way, if everyone still wants to go, how can we keep this economical? because paying $1000+ for rooms isn't too fun. let's assume 14 people will be attending, so even if tracy and rick will be getting individual packages with rooms for each package, that only gives us 2 rooms. so, is anyone else flying there? daniel, do you have anymore benefits to hotels in vegas? i will call other hotels later today, nov 13, to compare prices.

I understand your comment and this is why you should not be creating NEW threads for a topic that ALREADY exists. You would have seen that I said to abandon Eddie's Hotel Hook-up route after its already established and tried and known that he doesn't work there and that any chances of him getting us anything is slim to none. But since it was in a seperate thread you didn't see it.
So I was pushing to stop depending on him and moving onto other avenues of getting rooms before it gets even later.

Depends who you are getting rooms for? I think the HelluvaFast group should get rooms together as we have absolutely no word on what confirmed friends Danny is bringing. So I think they should take care of themselves. Because its hard enough to get our own shit together and they seem just as organized as us... and then thats double plus un-good if we still have to agree on shit with people we ca't get in touch with...

about $70 a night at Comfort Inn Las Vegas, New Mexico. So $210 for the 3 nights, I didn't ask about discounts because I felt that would be a waste of time. Like this isn't right now.

as of now it looks like we can get moderatly priced rooms the no-name hotels and pay some raping prices for the major hotels. i'm not sure how far flamingo is from the strip, but if the lady wasn't lying to me, it looks like a pretty good price. so the question is:
do we stay 2 nights or 3 nights? because the majority of hotels only offer reservations for 3 nights do we do that or stick with the ones that allow 2 nights?
and again, Rick, will you be joining us on the road trip, or flying with Tracy?
everyone must answer these questions because the longer you guys take, the more ass raping the price will be

thanks team helluvafast for lagging. because i called MGM and they said if we booked earlier, we could have gotten a suite for $40 more per night. that means we could have cut down reservations in half and just get 2 rooms. but because of you guy's faggot ass lagging, all suites are booked....
i hope that's a lesson to you that lagging for 3 months is bad, shit, lagging is bad in general. especially if Ray C, Daniel, Sherm, Andy, James, or Rick will be coordinating the next event.

1) daniel said that stef and friends are going to be driving down on sunday, so going together would be pretty cool
2) if we will be going for 3 nights, we will be driving monday morning, so one more day would also add to the coolness

as of 7:30 pm Thursday Nov. 14 2002, I have spoke to ROD. He can get us rooms at Bally's for:
12/29 = $120
12/30 = $279
12/31 = $279
1/03 = $120
(per night, per room)
a Total = $798.00
We need to have at least room reservations before ROD can upgrade our room to a suite, but this is pending for he needs to check the avaliability of the suites. He will be calling me back either tonight or tommorrow to let me know the status. And remember, he will be wanting his special commission that suddenly disappears into is black suit.
This is the UPDATE!!!!! Will update as more as more late breaking news arises!
(And whoever said they called Bally's and was sure that ROD no longer works there should be FLAMED by the ENTIRE TEAM, because:

Now that Ricky, Tracey, and Jennie has confirmed their attendance, I believe we may have a transportation seating arrangement issue.
Here are the seating arrangements as follows:
Stefanie's Van:

BUT as of now, I have not included Sandon in any of our plans. If he goes, he is more than welcomed and Ricky and Tracey will then have rides, but as of now..... Does anyone have any suggestions? I want everyone to go becuase this is NEW YEARS so:
QUESTION #1
How can we accomodate Ricky and Tracey?
Ray Wong and I have suggested getting another vehicle to accomodate Ricky and Tracey and to free up some space in each Van so instead of 7 people there will be 6 people in each van thus making the ride more comfortable.
As for the Hotel, ROD has not gotten back to me. I called yesterday Monday 11/18 and he was off, but will be in today so I will call back today to find out.

another reason for getting another van is that there won't be enough room for luggage. remember how packed it was with 6 people's worth of luggage? now if we stick 7 people into a van and add that extra person's lugage, that would be impossible (well, close to impossible)
remember it's a suggestion....we have to vote inorder for it to pass.
if sandan and tiffany goes, i think it can be reasonable to rent another van. therefore, if we include rick and tracey there will be a total of
18 people
divided by 3 vans, we can comfortably seat 6/van plus plenty of luggage. you can do the math yourself...each van is about $350 for the whole week

it has been decided, nov 19, 9:30pm, that we should get 3 vans. that is final, so daniel should be renting the third van soon.
so far, i haven't been getting any complaints on dividing up the cost evenly, but i think gas expenses can be a problem. some vans may get 1 more MPG, depending on how much the driver slams on the gas pedel. so this is what we can do:
Alternative #1
we can all have the gas go into 1 huge total and later divided by 18 because people. the reason is because people might be switching seats from van to van. the benefit is that it will be easy to calculate without any problems. the con is that this calculation will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, so the other 17 people may not find it fair for the person come out so much ahead (but remember, this individual will be working pretty hard to run back and forth from 3 vans and charging it to their credit card)
Alternative #2
we will select 3 groups of 6 (don't matter who is assigned to what group because it will just be used for gas purposes) each group will nominate a leader which will charge gasoline for each (1) van. at the end of the trip, the 6 will be reimbursing the 1 credit card. the benefit is that there won't be too much rounding up, so no one will feel cheated. the con is that we need to find 3 leaders, and will have to have a huge group meeting with stef's friends to first, let them know about the idea and second, to have them agree and see if any of them will volunteer.
UPDATE ON RICK/TRACEY SITUATION
because we will be getting 3 vans, we can all comfortably seat everyone at 6/van, so everything is OK. rick and tracey both have seats in the wonderful caravans!

Alternate #1 is not possible to perform with 1 credit card because you cannot pump gas 3 times for 3 vans with the same credit UNLESS you use 1 pump and 1 single CONTINUOUS purchase. Which means the vans would have to be filled 1 at a time on a continuous purchase (more time to take a piss).

actually, it just occured to me that we can't just use 1 credit card....i believe the majority of credit cards nowadays have limitations on gas purchases to protect from fraud. such as only "X" amount of charges/day, so to elimate any future problems we might incur on the trip, let's just go for choice 2....

grand total - $596.54
divided by 18 people - $33.14 each
everyone pay $34.00 (rounded up)
$34.00 X 18 = $612.00
$612.00 > $596.54, so there's a difference of $15.46
one way is to divide it up by the people who used their credit cards, but is everyone ok with the idea of the extra $15.46?

Other than gas, I think things can be kept very simple if we buy nothing at all from Costco. You can buy them on a as needed bases. If you buy things from Costco and divide up cost, you actually create some more possible problems and you don't really save a SHIT load of money anyways. So you say $10 that you are gonna through away at the table.
No where will all the food be stored? Who's room? what if som people eat a LOT of noodles and drink a LOT of water? and other drink nothing but alcohol with cup o noodles???
Also seeing that it is going to be pretty damn cold / cold as fuck when we are there. I don't think we'll need to stockpile water like last time. We'll just each bring a flask. :D

I will volunteer in renting all three vans if neccessary. I will be back from my trip snowboarding on the 28th, so I can go pick the van up. You guys have to decide who will bring me there along obviously with three other peps, total 4 peps going to rent the vans...all 25 year olds the better. So me and Danny for sure should go and who ever else looks old to drive off with the thirc van....although I can rent all the three vans I don't know if they will let me...I obviously can not drive three vans at once...so me, Danny, and someone else over 25 might have to go and rent the vans, if I can I will rent all three vans under my credit card. I will try to call Dollar and ask them about that today...check back for updates on that....

Good suggestions Rick, but NO you cannot rent 3-VANS by yourself. I have asked and no such car rental company will let someone rent more than 1-car at a time. Therefore, each VAN must have a valid renter age 25 or greater with a major creditcard with a valid driver licenses. I will be renting one, and you can rent the second VAN.
The third van could be rented by Jeff or Ko on Stef's side for they both are 25 and greater.

REGARDING VAN
weren't we thinking of departing at 4am? so doesn't that mean the van should already be at someone's house waiting for us and would have been picked up the night before? but then again, we will all vote on departure time.
if all 3 vans are going to be booked for a full week, why not pick it up earlier so we wouldn't need to worry about it. judging by our last road trip, which was scheduled to depart at 5:15 am or so, we didn't leave until 6am. therefore, with 3 times as much people, we should get shit together even more early, especially the scheduling of vans

(You must be fully eady to leave whenever your driver indicates. If you are one to lag, please watch time closely- even if it means no sleep. You do no want 17 other individuals waiting for just you only. Give yourself enough time and consider driving distance to Chinatown as well)
PACKING
You are allowed only ONE duffel bag and ONE carry-on. We will be rotating sleeping arrangements, so please bring a pillow or sleeping bag. If you decide to bring an inflatable bed- please note the space of other individuals who will be sleeping on the floor too.
LODGING
Danny W. is still waiting on word from the "hookup guy" to upgrade to 2 suites. But we have confirmation of 3
rooms (not suites) at Bally's. Each room has 2 Queen beds. Some good news is that the prices have dropped

Due to fact that we are unable to purchase a PHYSICAL ticket and will only be able to reserve tickets for WILL CALL at the event, I have decided to cancel the party. (We can take a vote on this) A ticket on Will Call will mean waiting in one line to pick up the tickets from the ticket vendor, in this case, I think TicketMaster if you do it over the phone, and GrooveTickets.com if you do it on-line (Please NOTE: Each vendor has it's own sur-charge for vending tickets) and then waiting in another line to get into the venue.
I propose that we try to have dinner together and then catch the free fireworks show outside and then we can party back up in the rooms. For people who want to gamble and do other things they can. Also. Ray Wong has expressed that he does not want to attending A RAVE like setting and he also has MUSIC CONCERNS, others have expressed concerns about PAYING SO MUCH FOR TICKETS, so others DO NOT WANT TO ATTEND PERIOD. Since we have so many objections, we can do something else in which we will have less objections.
Personally, I wouldn't mind going to see a live PA SET by Dirty Vegas and The Crsytal Method, but that is my opinion.
UPDATES on the ROOMS:
ROD has called me back on 12/25 and he said that the 2-suites are looking good. I will need to confirm with him exactly what is going on, but so far so good.
UPDATES on VANS:
Vans are completely sold out for the 2-weeks starting from 12/20-1/03/03. I was instructed to call back daily to see if there are any early drop offs or cacellations. So far as of 2:28pm 12/26/02, nothing yet.
